Springville, UT – June 10, 2024 – Run Elite Program, Utah’s premier athletic organization dedicated to supporting elite distance runners, is thrilled to announce the signing of five exceptional athletes: Grant Fisher, Courtney Frerichs, Kenneth Rooks, Emily Venters and Michaela Myer. These talented individuals join an already distinguished roster, further cementing Run Elite Program’s commitment to excellence in the world of competitive running.

Grant Fisher, Nike sponsored Olympic standout on the global stage, brings a wealth of experience and numerous accolades, including multiple national titles and world championship appearances. He is the American record holder in the 3k, 5k, and 10k. His remarkable achievements and dedication to the sport make him a valuable addition to the Run Elite Program family.

Courtney Frerichs, Nike sponsored Olympic and World Silver Medalist, American record holder in the 3000m steeplechase, 7x All-American and NCAA National Champion is renowned for her tenacity and record-breaking performances. Her relentless pursuit of greatness aligns perfectly with the ethos of Run Elite Program, and we are excited to support her in her future endeavors.

Kenneth Rooks, Nike sponsored rising star in distance running, specifically the steeplechase, has quickly established himself as a formidable competitor. NCAA Champion and National Champion in the steeplechase. His impressive performances and potential for growth make him an exciting addition to the team, and we look forward to witnessing his continued success.

Emily Venters, Nike sponsored known for her versatility and strength across various distances, brings a dynamic presence to the team. 5x All-American at the University of Utah. Her dedication and passion for the sport are evident in her achievements, and we are proud to have her join our elite group of athletes.

Michaela Meyer, Nike sponsored NCAA Champion and 2x All-American, a dynamic runner with exceptional speed and endurance, rounds out the new additions. Her impressive achievements and potential for future success make her a valuable member of the team.

With our main purpose to support pro runners that live in our state and finding ways to have meaningful contributions to the community, our current REP group is making major impacts in significant ways in a short period of time. I’m excited to see the further impacts we can make in pro running through our unique and innovative model and further our desire to do meaningful work in our community,” said Club Director & Cofounder Isaac Wood.

These five new members join an already impressive roster of athletes, including:

  • Conner Mantz: Nike sponsored two-time NCAA Cross Country Champion, US Marathon Trials Champion, and 2024 Olympian known for his exceptional endurance and strategic racing.
  • Clayton Young: Asics sponsored NCAA Champion, 2024 Olympian, and National Champion Road runner with a strong record in long-distance events and a commitment to excellence.
  • Jared Ward: Saucony sponsored Olympian, 6th place finisher in the 2016 Rio Olympics and experienced marathoner recognized for his consistent performances and deep understanding of the sport.
  • Anna Camp Bennett: Adidas sponsored accomplished middle-distance runner with multiple national titles, NCAA 1500m Championship and a drive for success.
  • Whittni Orton Morgan: Adidas sponsored standout athlete with a remarkable collegiate career including NCAA Cross Country Championship and a bright future in competitive running.
  • Sylvia Bedford: 4x St.George Utah Marathon winner known for her strong performances and determination, adding depth to the team’s talent pool.
  • Jake Heslington: NCAA Team Champion and Top 25 finisher at the Olympic Marathon Trials in 2024. A versatile runner with a strong competitive edge and a history of impressive results.
  • Michael Ottesen:  NCAA Team Champion & Deseret News Marathon Champion. A competitive distance runner with a bright future.

Cofounder and CFO Jared Ward expresses excitement about running in the state, “We have no shortage of amazing athletes in this state, athletes that want to do good in our communities and bless our youth. Run Elite Program was created to support PROs — yet what we are seeing is PROs inspiring and supporting health and wellness in Utah.
