The Weekend of July 24th was a celebration all over the state of Utah, as it was for REP athletes at the Deseret News Marathon. There were high profile performances across the board from our Pros. They dominated in the Half-marathon and 10k, showing the field we mean business.
Half Marathon
The half Marathon was full of excitement in both the women’s and men’s races. Huge performances on each side!
The women were well represented by Makenna Myler in her professional debut with Asics. She took a HUGE win, finishing in 1:09:54.00, an 8 minute personal record. First win of many as a REP and Asics athlete!
Next up was our man Jake Heslington with a time of 1:07:36.66. While the his race didn’t go as planned, he pushed to the end for a solid 7th place finish.

10K
The 10k was a strong showing for the men. We had 3 athletes in the overall top 15, all throwing down great times.
Jared Ward ran strong, giving it his all in a sprint finish uphill in the last 400 meters to take second overall with a time of 28:15.33. He ran well representing REP and Saucony.
Michael Ottesen finished 6th overall with a time of 29:52.61, followed by Micah Adams in 13th place, throwing down a solid 31:11.96.
A strong showing from all our Athletes on the road and as we leave summer heading into fall.
We have high hopes and expectations from all of our athletes for the rest of 2021!
